Meditation

Many people look at meditation as a wierd act. Why do i need to sit still and think? I want to be proactive. Doing something productive. And since we are christians, we want to do something for God. We read his word and right away zoom into our daily routines. BUT, there is something missing here. Psalm 1:2 and Psalm 119:9-11 encourage us to meditate. But to meditate on what? To meditate on the word of God. Just like the way your body needs food to grow, your soul needs the word as well to grow. This is not an easy exercise as our minds can tend to race off to other places. Don't give up , go back to where you had stopped and continue from there. You have the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in you ( Ephesians 1:17). Just sitting still and pondering on this word. It could be in class, office, a walk, a run etc. The more you ponder on his word, the more you will hear the Lord through his spirit.
